KSD Australia is Indonesian diaspora kawanua community network organisation


Kawanua Se Dunia (KSD) Australia Incorporated is a not-for-profit community network organisation of the Indonesian diaspora originating from Minahasa in North Sulawesi Province of Indonesia who live, work and study in Australia. KSD stands for "Kawanua Se Dunia" or "friends all over the world". Specifically, Kawanua people are Minahasan or Manadonese people who are originated from Minahasa region of North Sulawesi province in Eastern Indonesia with Manado is the provincial capital city. The term Kawanua is only for Minahasan people living outside Minahasa. "Kawanua" means "friend of the same village/place", "Ka" means "friend" and "wanua" means "village/place". The Minahasans or Minahassa are an indigenous ethnic group from the North Sulawesi province of Indonesia, formerly known as North Celebes.

  3. To help improve the welfare of the Minahasan people who are still underdeveloped.
  4. To foster close relationships and harmony with the local government and communities as understanding the Australian values.

  1. Coordination and gathering data and information of the kawanua diaspora organisations in Australia.
  2. Regular meetings in-person or online with fellow kawanua diaspora in Australia.
  3. Smart Village Program in Minahasa Sulawesi Utara Indonesia for "Desa Terbelakang" or "Desa Berkembang".
  4. Educational Assistance Fund for high school students categorised coming from "keluarga miskin" as part of the Smart Village Program above.
  5. Fundraising activities to support the above programs.
